This privacy policy sets out how I use and protect your Personally Identifiable Information when you use this website.

This Privacy Policy was put in place 21st May 2018 and is effective immediately.

Your Privacy Is Important

I am committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should I ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

The security of your Personal Information is important to me, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While I strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

What is Personally Identifiable Information

This is any information that can directly or indirectly identify a natural person and it can be in any format. Personally Identifiable Information includes:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Photo
  • IP address
  • Location data
  • Online behaviour (cookies)
  • Profiling and analytics data

I collect very little Personally Identifiable Information on this website - the server keeps a record of visitors IP addresses for security purposes, so that malicious visitors can be banned.

I use Disqus for user comments - to leave a comment, you need an account with Disqus. Disqus is an online public comment sharing platform where users may login and create profiles to participate in conversations with peers and enjoy an interactive experience. By using their comment sharing platform and software you commit to their Privacy Policy, which you can see here.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to monitor site traffic and find out which pages are popular with site visitors. However to maintain web visitors privacy I have anonymised Google Analytics, so that visitor IP addresses are not tracked. Learn more about Google Analytics and how they handle your privacy.

IP Addresses

The IP address of all site visitors are held on server logs for the purpose of detecting and preventing fraud, preventing unauthorized access and to maintain the security of our systems. IP addresses are only held for 7 days after which they are deleted from our system.

Our website does contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave this site, you should note that I do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, I cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

I am committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, I have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. I regularly review our security procedures.
